Samsung has been in the news for quite a while for the possibilities of launching a foldable smartphone. From the looks of things, this could soon be official as rumours are going around of the device being unveiled in January at the CES 2019 event. While the Korean company is busy with their next innovation, Dutch Website NieuweMobiel and Jonas Dahnert joint hands to give a glimpse of what you could expect to see.

At present, looks like the new device is going to be named Galaxy X, but the possibility also stands on it being named Galaxy F (name of their previous cancelled model). Of course, Galaxy X would be better as it would go great with the foldable design, but then in terms of branding “X” has a majority preference.

Well, the name does not really matter, the look is what we as a consumer are more interested in and renders did great by showing not just in foldable, but un-foldable and even 90-degrees view. These renders are based on the Samsung patents that the company has added for their folding smartphone and the schematics in their company’s patent application.

Yes, the phone does not fold flat, a matter of fact, even in the closed position there is a slight opening that reminds us of the Microsoft Surface Book. Due, to this part of the panel, stays visible and acts as a ticker and lets you see the media control buttons.

Though looks like the fingerprint scanner are on the back, but possibilities are for it being placed as an under display solution. For those who love taking pics, well, get ready as you might be getting a total of four cameras- two front and two at the back hence, no angle missed.

As per previous talks, expectations in are for a 7″ or more bigger display with a 21:9 aspect ratio when the phone is fully open. You can expect a resolution of 1440 x 3660 and battery of 3,000-6,000 mAh. Yes, the price tag of $1,850 definitely does not make it a phone for the masses, at least for now.
