Counting On star John David Duggar and wife Abbie Burnett are expecting their first child together. The newlyweds are adding another member to the ever-expanding Duggar family.

29-year-old John David and 27-year-old wife Abbie are welcoming their first baby after being married last November. The newlywed couple didn’t waste any time starting their family. The Duggar family was made famous by their reality TV show on TLC, originally titled 17 Kids and Counting, which then, with the addition of two more family members, was finally changed to 19 Kids and Counting. John David, the third child born to Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar, has been in the spotlight since 2008. In the newest installment in the Duggar franchise, TLC focuses on the family’s older children as they celebrate milestones, get married, and raise their own families. John David, who has his pilot’s license, proposed to Abbie in an airplane, so it only makes sense that the baby announcement would happen in one as well.

John David and Abbie revealed that they are expecting a baby through an Instagram post. The couple posted a picture of themselves in an airplane holding a onesie that says, “Baby Passenger On Board.” The caption on the picture reads: “We are on Cloud 9 about welcoming our own little Duggar into the world!!!” The parents-to-be wrote about how life-changing this news is, saying, “It really is amazing to think about being parents and having our own child to raise.” The couple, who are open with their Christian faith, wrote, “We are thankful that God has blessed us with this new life and we look forward to taking on this new adventure!” Many of John David’s siblings were posting their congratulations to the couple. Even family friends, the Bates family, who were often shown on 19 Kids and Counting, commented their excitement for the couple, writing, “So stinkin’ happy for you both. Your smiles say it all!”

The new addition to the family will be one of many Counting On babies born, expanding the Duggar family tree. 2019 has been full of Duggar baby announcements. Jessa Duggar and Ben Seewald welcomed their third child, a daughter in late spring; Anna and Josh Duggar, as well as Kendra and Josiah Duggar, are expecting later this year; and Joy Duggar and Austin Forsyth announced that they were expecting, though the couple posted about the sudden and painful loss of their baby. Even Amy Duggar and Dillon King are expecting their first baby, and she expressed that she would be open to raising her son gender-fluid.

Although the Duggar family has been in the spotlight over recent years for less than happy news, it looks like things are settling down for the family. Counting On will be returning with a new season with all new courtships, family reunions, and fun adventures in the all-new 10 episode series. It’s certain that the new season will show more of John David and Abbie’s marriage, showing their relationship blossom into the happy expecting parents they are today.
