A judge has rejected a settlement that was reached earlier this year between employees of Apple, Intel, Google, and Adobe and their respective companies, CNBC reported today. According to reports from the courtroom, Judge Lucy Koh ruled that the settlement was not high enough and should actually be $380 million. Microsoft took a step backwards in 2021 on its goal, first aired in 2020, to become carbon negative by 2030. The new Extreme 105 service will provide download speeds of up to 105 Mbps and a 10 Mbps upload. The service will be available starting in June. According to a bill update that was sent out in March, Extreme 105 will cost $199.95 per month and have a one-time $249.00 installation fee. However, USA Today recently reported that the price would be $105 per month on a 12-month contract as part of a triple-play bundle; no mention of an installation fee....

Microsoft may be positioning its new $399 Surface Go tablet as a competitor to Apple’s $329 iPad, but I don’t think Apple need be particularly concerned. On the, ah, surface, the Go looks like a good deal. For $70 more than the base-model iPad, you get something presenting itself as a full PC, running desktop apps rather than mobile ones. You can also add a $99 or $129 keyboard to turn it into a laptop, an option Apple reserves for the much more expensive iPad Pro....
