A new report today suggests that Apple is bringing back Touch ID to iPhones. Unlike a sketchier report last month, this one says that under-display Touch ID will not replace Face ID, but rather supplement it, with 2021 iPhones able to be unlocked using either method. The report certainly cannot be dismissed out of hand. While analyst Ming-Chi Kuo doesn’t have a perfect track-record, he has a far better one than most....
How I Met Your Mother star Cobie Smulders has found a potential new home at ABC in drama pilot Stumptown. The new series - based on the graphic novels of the same title and created by Jason Richman - calls for a strong female lead as it follows private eye Dex Parios. Smulders has been signed to play the starring role. After a successful nine-year run on How I Met Your Mother, Smulders’ fan base developed even further when she was cast as Maria Hill in The Avengers....
iOS security researcher Will Strafach agrees with a recent claim that Apple can do more when it comes to combating NSO and others who exploit combat zero-day vulnerabilities in iOS. Comedy Central personality and long-time series contributor Jordan Klepper was arrested during a protest. The comedian became known as a segment correspondent on the The Daily Show in 2014, and stayed alongside Trevor Noah when he replaced Jon Stewart until 2017. Comedy Central then launched Klepper’s own late night talk and satirical news show, The Opposition with Jordan Klepper, which was co-created by Noah. Despite positive critical reception, the show was cancelled after one season....
